Frequently
Asked Questions
How realistic are the dinosaurs?
VERY, take a look at the photos. The larger dinosaur operator’s legs are hidden away for a more authentic look. The animatronics in the neck and the head give the dinosaur a very realistic look. The mouth opens to reveal the teeth and the eyelids blink. The operators are extremely skilled and have the movements and mannerisms down to a fine art. The smaller dinosaurs are also authentic in their look and mannerisms. George the baby dinosaur still in his shell is more of a cartoon character but that works well on shows. He is usually first on and is always met with an Aww from the crowd.
Are performance times limited?
Yes, on the large dinosaurs where the operator is inside, performance times are limited to 20mins. This is due to the weight on the operator. The rest of the showtime is taken up with the carried dinosaurs.
What do the Dinosaurs do?
The Rangers run the whole show, but it’s all about the dinosaurs. The Rangers introduce the dinosaurs for meet and greets with guests, pose for photographs and ‘selfies’. Some of the dinosaurs love to show off their tricks whilst other dinosaurs create a stir and a little mischievous fun. The Rangers are always on hand for questions and answers.
How scary are the dinosaurs?
We treat each event individually. The Ranges guide each event accordingly and if there are lots of young children attending the large dinosaur will take a less threatening approach.
Venue - What space is required?
The larger dinosaur is 5m in length, 2m tall with its head down. It will fit through a doorway. But ideally a 10x10m cordoned off area minimum. The area must be flat and on the ground level. A few wide steps into a building is manageable, but we cannot do stairs. If the event is outside, the larger dinosaur cannot be operated in high winds.
